Laos
Lesley made the step in 2009 to take her love of music & Christian bible-based teaching overseas to be involved with missionary organisations who worked with women living in less fortunate circumstances than she was used to experiencing in Australia. Laos was the first destination, where she spoke & sang at a conference for young university-aged women. The young women's greatest desire was to see change in their nation, & Lesley was amazed at their willingness to take steps of faith on a daily basis to carry the message of Christ wherever they went.
Ukraine
Lesley joined a missions trip to Ukraine in 2009, with Springfield Christian Family Church, where she enjoyed leading the worship in different parts of the country. Joining together in worship, despite the cross cultural diversity, was such a blessing for Lesley as she led songs in English while the congregation sang in Ukranian. Leading worship in Kiev; speaking at a women's conference in Lugansk; and helping to host a worship seminar in Krasnogorovka, made Lesley even more aware of how women in any culture can come together & experience the message of the gospel.
ISRAEL
A tour of the promised land, led by Vision Christian Media, was a dream come true for Lesley as she had opportunity to lead worship in strategic places such as the The Garden Tomb; Caesarea Phillipi; the Lambing Cave in Bethlehem; and the extraordinary 12th Century Church of St Anne where the acoustics are so perfect the church is virtually a musical instrument to be played by the human voice. To sail on the Sea of Galilee, float on the Dead Sea, visit Masada and walk the steps of the Via Dolorosa are experiences that bring the Bible alive and the presence of God could be truly felt. The journey was a privilege & one that will never be forgotten.
